What I Hated the Least Today 5/365: “Artwork”

I’ve been painting. Again. The result—considering it took me three hours to produce—is mildly disappointing. The process, however, delighted if not myself, then my cat. She was excited by the opportunity to chase around brushes, sniff paint and step (literally) in the work in progress.

I’ve discovered that the cat finds cobalt blue soothing but fiercely hates dark green. I had some trouble defending the brush from her when applying dark green. Also, in case you wonder, once you have a cat, you never do anything without involving the cat. The cat involves herself.

  1. Oh my gosh, I love this. This is so cool. I have been painting and drawing again as well, all for the process not concerned with the result. It is soooo calming. But the addition of your cat is awesome just as company, and then to find she is not only interested but has her own opinions is just fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Ooh, thank you so much for your lovely feedback!

I’m so glad that I made myself be creative again, it’s good to take a little break from the computer and train your motorics with the brush.

Well, my cat has an opinion on everything 😉

  2. *dons french beret* Ah, yes, compared to the artist’s first peace, the calm blues and seafoam greens suggest a settling in, a somewhat increased comfort with the medium. In addition, in a contrast to previous works, here we find the artist attempting some more refined control with straighter, more measured lines. But, alas, the top of canvas breaks free of this rule, suggesting some meaning of breaking free from the norms of convention… *whips off hat*

Another fun piece! And the thing about cats is true…

    1. Oh my!! I love your insightful analysis into the depths of the artist’s creative mind ❤ Obviously, my little silly "artwork" doesn't deserve such a thoughtful feedback. But do you do reviews for a living? Or do you read a lot of criticism? Your wording is quite professional! (The cat shares my opinion – or rather, I share hers.)

  3. My cat Sylvester approves this post. He also likes to “help” me with my various projects usually interjecting himself into my lap while I’m trying to write. If Sylvester was able he would follow my outside while I pursue my photography passion but thankfully he is a homebody. Love your art and your kitty!! Meow!!

    1. My cat says hello to Sylvestr! The same here, my post had to be approved by my cat before posting and the opinions expressed are the cat’s 😉 My cat is also a homebody, fortunately, but she is known to interfere with the camera anytime I try to take photos indoors…
