  1. I am so happy that I don’t have to keep current on all those style manuals anymore. I got so burnt out, editing theses and dissertations, you wouldn’t believe! Recovering, now, but my eyesight isn’t up to my coming out of retirement. 🙂


    1. Hello, fellow editor 🙂 I don’t mind keeping up, the changes don’t come so fast as in, say, law; but you’re right to point out that the eyes suffer. Of course one can get burnt out from editing. It doesn’t surprise me. Sometimes it’s a frustrating job.

Welcome to the tricky world of Chicago Style 😀 I work as a proofreader/technical editor, hence I’m the one who makes sure that a bunch of disconnected sentences and random bibliography records make sense at the end. Chicago Style is particularly suitable for standardisation of texts, that’s what I’m using this big book for.
