    1. My cat is my favourite model, alas, a very moody one! She must be cuddled and fed and allowed to wash herself before each session, then she might actually be in peace enough for me to capture anything else than motion blur πŸ˜‰

      1. Sounds like a cat. Of course, I have the same issue with my children, but that’s mainly because they move faster than my camera.

  2. So cute! πŸ™‚ I love watching my cat when she washes her paws. She is very methodical and like your cat, she closes her eyes when she is washing. I wonder why.

    1. My cat did the same too. Maybe it’s really enjoying the moment and closing its eyes. πŸ˜›

    2. Hello Grace, nice to see you! πŸ™‚

I’m surprised to hear that your cat is a methodical washer! Both my cats are incredibly chaotic — with their feet, they usually do a good job, but I can’t see any system in their random focus on random other parts of the body. Maybe there is some cat logics in that though, considering that at the end of the day, they keep themselves clean effectively.

I wonder why they’re closing their eyes too — could they be enjoying that? I mean, I wash myself a lot too, but I’m not particularly enjoying that… Maybe I’m not a cat.

      1. She is methodical when she washes her paws and her face (I love the way she washes behind her ears…so sweet!). But when she washes elsewhere, I suppose it does seem quite random.

Haha, I’ve often remarked that I wouldn’t mind being a cat (a well-fed, pampered one, of course). They always seem to be very mindful creatures, appreciating being in the moment! It reminds me of a very entertaining little book I gave to my mother: The Dalai Lama’s Cat and The Art of Purring.

        1. Ha! That explains the cat washing mystery to me. Yes, cat paws and ears are subjected to systematic hygiene, but the rest of the cat is washed on random… My cat reminds me of the Roomba vacuum cleaner: both are chaotic, but both do the job at the end. Here’s to the happy life of the cat! P.S. I’ll need to check out the cat-buddhist book you recommend πŸ˜‰
