A Dose of Dozing

The other day my grandparents had a visitor who saw our cat and sincerely exclaimed that it was the ugliest cat ever. I didn’t speak to the visitorย any more afterwards, as you can imagine.

    1. Yes, that’s the a bit aloof and distant cat, but she’s OK too. She won’t bite or scratch or anything when you come near — at most, she will give you a disgusted look and walk away ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. And how is she called? I mean, the full name, not the nickname! For the other day,in your Writing Challenge post,I realised that your other cat’s true name was Elise. All the time,I thought it was Ela (or something).

        1. Thank you for your lovely comment! You’re quite amazing to remember all those things about my cats! Seriously. Well, the tabby cat is “officially” called “Elise”, but I call her “Ella” for short (or anything else that I please really…). The black cat is always called just “Paw”, grandmother gave her this dog’s name (it strikes me as a dog’s name) and there’s not much one can do with it in terms of shortening or such. So that’s the story of cat names ๐Ÿ™‚

          1. Ah…yeah! Paw! I remember the name now! ๐Ÿ™‚
I think ”Paw” didn’t stick to my mind as much as ”Ella” did, for,as you said, the former is pretty much a dog’s name! Haha, that’s pretty funny! ๐Ÿ˜€

          2. And by the way,I don’t think you’re cat is ugly. ๐Ÿ™‚

There is only one thing I don’t like with cats, and that’s their stare.I am always under the impression that they’ll jump on me or that they I’m annoying them! They’re not as friendly as dogs! :p

          3. Good that you don’t think my cat is ugly, she doesn’t deserve this criticism, poor thing ๐Ÿ™‚ Also it’s not her fault how she looks, right.

This is interesting what you say about cat stare. You’re right in that cats can stare at you in a very discomforting manner; fortunately, mine don’t usually do that. Especially the friendlier cat would run to me any time I show, she would meow by the way of greeting and she rubs against my legs in a friendly manner. And often she follows me around like a dog ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. How can anyone think that kitty ugly? Some people just don’t understand – one of the girls I went to school with had a cat who everyone declared was “ugly”, but I could never see it.

I love the idea of “Caturday” by the way! Genius, wish i’d thought of it ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I wish I could claim the idea of “Caturday” for myself, sadly, I actually shamelessly copied it from another person too… And now the cat is out of the bag ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s exactly what I was thinking. This cat might not be a particular beauty, but I’m not sure what would made a cat ugly. To me all cats are pretty, but I guess I’m biased!

    1. Thanks for standing by me and by the poor little “ugly” cat! I assume she was called ugly because she’s black(ish) and some people don’t prefer black cats.

  2. Hey havnt I seen this picture before? How on earth can anyone say any cat is ugly let alone yours she is sooo pretty I just want to cuddle her though I know she wont let me, cute cute cute

    1. I know, right, how can any cat be ugly?! You’ve probably seen a similar picture, this one is actually new, but if you keep on taking pictures of one and the same cat sleeping, they will probably all look very much alike. Oh, she would probably let you cuddle her a bit (and then she would give you a bad look and retreat in the neighbour’s garden, the proud lady that she is) ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. That visitor who offended our cat surely knew nothing about cats. And about polite manners either! Ever since then I’ve been inspecting the cat for signs for ugliness…

Say what?
