I hope to be hysterically hilarious. But maybe I'm just hysterical.
That’s me grasping some weirdly phallic-shaped plant again.
It is Mahonia aquifolium (Oregon-grape or Oregon grape) .
Oh dear, you’re so knowledgeable! It always amazes me… Thank you for this info! It does look a bit like a grape, that’s right.
You are welcome!

Is that plant too from your garden?
Yep, apparently, there’s a large amount of different plants that grow in different periods. I have no idea what a plant called Oregon Grape is doing here though…
You should be glad! Look what I found when I googled the plant:
Oh!! But now what do I do to benefit from all these effects that the plant has? Do I have to eat it or something? Or is it OK just to stay a while in the proximity of the plant and pat it lovingly on its petals? 😉
Haha, you had me check the benefits on the internet.
Apparently it must be ingested. The tea can be infused into some sort of tea,and the berries can be eaten although they are sour.As for the roots,I know they have beneficial effects, but I ignore how they can be consumed! 🙂
(In case you really want to taste that plant, just make sure that it really is the Oregon Grape Root and not some sort of poisonous plant which happens to look exactly alike!)
Oh dear, you’re too good to have found out the info for me! And you’re right that first of all I’d better check if the plant is really what we think it is!
I’ll give all your instruction over to grandma, who planted the thing in the first place, and who’ll be most likely interested in trying out its beneficial effects!
your always grasping something my lovely fiance, id say itchy fingers!
I know! I always have to fiddle with things! Bad bad me…
yes you know what happens to fiddly fingers right?
Hm, not really, what happens to fiddly fingers??
You and your phallic plants. I just can’t get enough of them. 🙂
Haha 😀 In the first place it was grandma who planted the phallic plants, I’m just going out and harassing them on a regular basis 😉
